    I'm at home now, back to poor Internet, but I've seen the photos on this page after a couple of minutes wait. Lovely delphiniums and poppy seed heads.

    Pond? POND!!!!!!! It's 0.8acre!!  We call it ( well, the estate agents called it ) a "lake" ( albeit a very small lake ) ;)
    I think I might be donning my waders to go in and cut some of the overhanging branches which are actually IN the water . The just gather up weed and actually stop the ducks etc getting under for shelter/ shade.

  • Oh my word Hosta, your lake is magnificent - it just looks so serene and uncontrived.  You are so lucky and please don't think of getting into waders to cut branches a chore - most of us would gladly give our small garden ponds to own a lake like yours. I couldn't see any blanket weed but those lilies are beautiful.
