if you can lay it like a tree (one large pipe or two next to each other) as a truck and then branches running at 45 degrees from the 'trunk' pointing away from your house is best, depending on the width of your garden two 'trees' might be needed,
if you surround the drains with pea shingle rather than hardcore/big gravel it'll drain better. the drains also need to be sloped away from the house with now low bits (or flat bits) where the water could puddle of back up from
