Oh dear,  when my old one died he just disappeared,  right into the shell,  then rotted away,  the shell was empty,   I’ve not know them to die hanging out.
    Less to feed 😀
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • True enough Lyn - they hadn't even been bothering much with their Radichio lately which has always been their favourite.  Large Brown is tucked into the turf - hasn't sealed himself off so far but I'll keep a close eye on him.
BTW did the seeds arrive OK ?

Still working on my half-arsed quest to find all the snail species in the UK. I'm also working on improving my scientific recording and photography as I'm hoping to do something a bit more formal with that later in the year. This is a Great Pond Snail shell (Lymnaea stagnalis). It's surprisingly tricky to take five photos with consistent lighting and colour then stitch this together with them all at the right scale.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
