My little giant is growing rapidly now. I can't get it to diversify its diet yet though. It tried a bit of dandelion and a bit of spinach but doesn't seem interested in trying anything else we offer it.

Once they get started on foods they grow quite quickly,  my baby hatched in September last year and is mating already,  which I think is quite cheeky given his size.
although not as big as the others he's catching up fast.

Not the easiest person to contact Lyn.  I've left her a couple of messages on her phone asking her to let me know one way or another in the next day or 2.

Ok Philippa, I won’t  squash them for a few days.

Easier to buy them, ever put salt on a slug or snail, they disappear to a puddle of water.

Earlier this week I found a spot on a beach where small, buoyant things had collected together, and among the fascinating array of microplastics I found this tiny snail shell that had interesting teeth inside the opening. This is the shell of the Mouse-eared Snail which lives along the shoreline of beaches and estuaries and is quite salt tolerant for a land snail. The scale is in mm and this is about as big as they come.
And now for some sea snail trivia: The name of the spotted cowrie is Trivia monacha and I found quite a few stranded and dried up on the shore this week but managed to revive this one in a bucket. It's really weird how the foot covers the shell when they emerge.

My news that the T's have now taken to the leaves of Palermo peppers seems paltry by comparison.  Great pics - there's obviously a lot more to Snails than meets the eye.  Thanks @wild edges :)

GALS update: He's finally using his coconut house and really enjoyed mushroom and dog biscuit for tea last night. He ate all the gills from the mushroom first but obviously spent a lot of time muching it later on going by all the scrape marks on there. Totally ignored cucumber and pak choi in favour of mushroom and they're normally his favourites.
