That's good going for three months growth :o

They do grow very quickly,  I’ve got 8 of the monsters now, need a bigger tank soon.
I’m not going to fall into the trap my daughter did and keep the eggs,  she just couldn’t get rid of them,  she’s got about 100 of them, anyone want an African Land snail or 4😀

I have my snails today, too small to pick up so these are 3 of the 4 on a little teaspoon.
I am amazed at the rate these grow!

That's crazy for a month's growth. They must need a lot of calcium to keep growing shell like that.

Thank Philippa, got your message and emailed you,🙂
they do eat a lot,  they get through a whole cuttlefish in about 2 weeks. Apart from that they eat cucumber mainly for liquid,  and lettuce.
You have to spray the tank 3 or 4 times a day with warm water.

If anyone is coming to Devon or Cornwall and would like a couple, you’d be welcome to collect or meet up.

Snails Progress - from Cornwall to Devon to Somerset in roughly 6 months - not bad going for such slow moving creatures  :D

Unsure whether there is a tads discrimination going on here at the mo -  Large white and Small white sticking together and Small brown on his own.  Bit of Snail counselling needed perhaps ?

Lovely little beasts - looking forward to watching them grow and if anyone else is tempted by Lyn's offer, I can thoroughly recommend them as extremely relaxing pets  :)

Don’t let don’t let them stick together Philippa 😀. They are indeed relaxing pets, I can watch them for ages, just the slow movements around the tank.

    Today’s photo shoot.
They  grow so quickly, this one’s about 5” from nose to tail.  However do they fit in the shell,  I’d love to see an X Ray just to see what goes on inside there.
You  can see all the lines along his body as he ripples up the side of the tank.

    Looking good Lyn  :):)

Ours are settling quite happily and I discovered they love the leaves of Chicory/Radichio.  It's an old plant that I must have left in from 2 years ago.  It had already been cut down 2 or 3 times but it's on it's last legs now - typical as they much prefer it to anything else I've tried ( other than the cuke of course ).  Sowed some more the other day so hope i can keep them satisfied until the plants start to grow.

Haven't yet managed to come up with suitable names other than Big White, Small White and Little Brown - known collectively as The Three Turds  :D
