n01 - it is you who are, if anything, insulting us. Had you had the wit to do some research on gardeners and gardening let alon had a look round this forum to see what sort of thing gets posted, answered and what kind of folk you are you wouldn't have posted such an ill-considered, open ended question.
As it is, you seem to think we're all stupid, unimaginative, uninventive, uncreative ...............

hahahahah, this is banter, you guys are savage as ahha, I've done three tours of Afghan which were less brutal, I think i get the picture tho, cheers anyway !!
3 tours of Afghan, then I, for one, tip my cap to you. Being ex army myself and seen the worst of this world., in Afghanistan we lost good men and women in a very savage environment
We do get a lot of students and others asking for help with their projects ... often they give us questionnaires to fill in ... if they ask pleasantly and the queries make some sort of sense we usually do our best to help.
The problem is that you asked a rather vague and open ended question at a time of year when we can't get out in the garden much and we have time on our hands .......... and you know the devil finds work for idle hands
There are lots of queries on the forum which should give you some ideas you might like to pursue ... have a browse around and hopefully you'll find something suitable for your needs ... then you can ask us some more structured questions and I'm sure we'll try to help.
And if you're going to hang around for a bit why not choose a friendly name we can call you by, than a number ... this isn't the army you know
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Mike - you should be out there using the garden to nurture you. It's very healing.
n01 - gardeners are friendly helpful people on the whole but, as you have learned, we will have a go when we feel we're being taken for granted and under-estimated. Well done you for your service and for switching careers. I hope it works for you.
As Dove says, try a more accessible name but also put something on your profile that explains where and what you are and then come back and ask a sensibly phrased question.
