Good to see you HCF.  How's tricks?

If the OP is serious, they should post a well-considered, well constructed question or questionnaire rather than a no-limits question which could lead anywhere.

Garden design and the products and materials used or desired are location/climate/geology/age/time and finance related.    The original question is too vague and too broad.

  • my problem is my gardens too small,

so if you could send me a couple of million quid to buy a house with a nice big back garden that would solve most of my gardening problems!

  • Good to see you too, Obs!       Rabbits are still "tricky" !

HCF - We have dead young trees here whose bark has been eaten off either by rabbits or roe deer.   Can't imagine we have either now there are two dogs galloping about but there are still coypu and Rasta finds some of their smelly poos to roll in with alarming frequency.

When we do get around to planting trees I shall put guards on, just in case but so far, touch wood, the veggie plot has been safe.

Deer keep attracting my fruit trees, not eating them but the males keep rubbing their antlers on them; scent marking their territories, I’m informed. What’s a gardener to do?

Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

    See original post

I've an idea ... we'll have your place in Cornwall and you can have our place in Norfolk ... both have lovely coastlines but you'll be able to commute daily and get rid of your London pad image

Redwing - put a cage round their trunks.  Chicken wire or green, plastic covered wire mesh as you prefer.
