Evening folks! Just a quick pop in while rice and peas and spiced chicken is cooking. Been up to sm to buy my tipple of honey brandy, couldn't face black Friday so nipped in this evening!
Happy birthday Obelixx! hope you had a marvelous day!
Lilyp! Congratulations on the bacon breakfast!!! Bet it was the best! Glad your not in pain anymore
Hope your both having lovely Hosta and Chicky holidays!
I can vouch for Doves haircut being dead trendy! And really suits her!
Until the last couple of years with mild winters we always had snow in Belgium in the week of my birthday and then it would settle down and me wet and murky till we got Siberian chills and snow in late Jan or Feb. For OH's 60th birthday we had a surprise fall of deep snow that freaked out BIL and SILs who came over to celebrate.
Today has been sunny and 18C which is crazy tho we did get some drops of rain while raiding the 2nd nursery. Nothing here of course.
Had a lovely lunch at Les Sables d'Olonne and then a stroll along the front where the Atlantic was the most excited we've seen it since we moved here. Waves all of 3' high but with lots of noisy white horses. Then a raid on a plant nursery nearby before heading east to one which has, in theory, about 20 shrubs and trees on my wishlist. We now have 5 of those plus a robinia fraserii Pink Crisp which I couldn't resist for my forthcoming foliage bed. All in 3 litre pots for about 12€. I drew the line at paying 60€ for a red leaved Japanese maple before winter, even here.
I expect I could get excited about Black Friday if nurseries and garden centres did it but otherwise it leaves me cold.
Pdoc - I hope you can get away somewhere warm soon. If not, maybe a few days at a UK spa so you can both be cossetted.
Pat - dramatic sky. Had some like that coming home late afternoon but nothing wet yet.
Hope the hols continue well Chicky and Hosta.
I let my hair get quite long between cuts and then worry about Sampson syndrome. Hope it doesn't affect you Busy and Dove and that you're pleased with the new cuts.
Have a comfy, cosy and safe evening everyone. No floods up north or in Wales I hope.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Dinner eaten, half hour slob on sofa then bed for me! Nighty night folks
It seems you had a very pleasant day out for your birthday Obelixx. I like your idea of a foliage bed. Love shrubs with autumn colour. Is Cosmos' paw nearly better?
Hi Wonky, I’ve meant to acknowledge you but get side tracked and forget what and who to say hello to. I’m glad you’re enjoying your work. I loved doing that. Too old now
Joyce I forgot to comment for you too with your family visiting. I’m getting red-faced here.
Dove your Ma sounds my sort of person. Love those sayings. Mine had similar ones. One of my favourites is “Familiarity breeds contempt”. We’ve proved that over and over here in this small village. The less you know about some of the locals, the better.

Have a lovely evening all, keep warm! X
You keep warm Wonky. Most of us can snuggle up in the indoor warmth.

i can’t be the first! Wakey wakes sleepy heads
we have had a smattering of white stuff
during the night and the sky is ominously pink
