Sorry your post comes across as incoherent rambling when it's all capitalised!

Any book written by an environmentalist is going to be biased. I put my faith in the myriad of impartial scientific papers written, backed by evidence and data, thank you very much. Plus my desire to make a good living!

That poster posts in capitals because her illness has left her very badly sighted, it s the only way she can see what she’s written!

i think you are correct in saying you need to make a good living, I would go and do that if I were you, fortunately , I don’t desire anything.

Where is the evidence of " the cost of food doubling?" and that people would " starve"?

    "impartial scientific papers" only please.

  • I didn't know about your poor eyesight, apologies.

Anyone feel like staying on topic and answering the original post?

I also have small patches of creeping buttercup in my lawn that weed and feed hasn’t managed to eradicate. I am going to use a well known  extra strong spot treatment weed killer gel and hope that it works.

Glasgowdan, I did answer the question and I didn't recommend Glyphosate as that will kill the grass as well. Lawn weedkillers are selective and kill broadleaved weeds, but my first choice was to dig the buttercups out. That is what I do, then scatter a bit of grass seed on the bare patch.

My first OH died from smoking, aged 53.

The French are trying to ban Glyphosate, but the alternatives don't really work. Our local cemetery, where 1st OH is buried is a no herbicide area from this year and now it looks a complete mess. No one has weeded it, I don't suppose the village can afford to employ someone. I have a large driveway, what will I do when it's banned? It's all a nightmare.

gardening is totally possible without herbicides, insecticides and any other 'cides. Been doing it for years.

there are some very rigid ideas in gardening, like a lawn should only be grass. Why? My 'other plants' stay green longer than grass.
