If there's golf on TV I find my OH can be a heavy object to shift but wiling enough to do heavy lifting otherwise.

How do you define elderly?  I had my only child aged 42.  Medically, pregnancy over 35 is defined as a geriatric pregnancy.

Now that she is 22 I know people of her age and older who get exhausted just hearing about what I and my kind get up to.  Gardeners, in general, are active, energetic and inventive people who find ways round problems and stay fit and supple far longer than couch potatoes..

The student posting this question needs to think much more carefully about what he or she wants to achieve and how to define and quantify the limits of his or her project and/or aspirations and then, maybe, ask a more intelligent and considered question.

My dad's aunt came to live with us just before she turned 90. She used to walk  up the road to church. We were very concerned one day that she was much longer than usual. She explained, "I'm sorry I'm late; I had to help an old lady."

  • Posy that sounds just like my mum! She's 81 and could run rings round most people! image

  • When my granny was in the WRVS one of the things she did was to organise holidays and coach trips for 'old people'. Most of them were in their sixties and seventies. ... one of them was 87 ... that was my granny image

  • You are as old as the man you feel honey!!  I am 67 next month, had my last bay at 41, lovelly Obelixx, well done! Here you are considered "elderly" at 37.  Yet, most of the first time Mums were around my age, then, and I already had a 21 year old, who was pregnant!!!  Yes, Posy, all my years nursing never had a bad back.  Last yea moved double radiator with Hubby, sacroilliac, brilliant Osteo. Last Wednesday bought 2 stone geese on e-aby, or the wildflower bit, got them in the car.  This end forgot I have said trolley (silly b****) when I sat down the pain started up, no appointments with osteo, but i know now what to do.  My daughter last one, has lots of joint, etc problems, she doesnt garden, says thats what I am for!!! Knew I retired for a reason.  The student did say people of any age with problems, yes, next doors brambles and weeds infiltrating my garden!!  Wonder what student thinks of us lot on here.

  • I had a baBy as well.

I was looking at the average age of our volunteers today: most of them are older than the people they help. Keeps them young I think.

Not sure I'm keen on the idea that I'm reaching a mature age for reproduction. Does that make me like a fine wine? Not that wine is perhaps the best thing for pregnancy talks.

Oh my god is that a grey hair???
