Can anybody identify this plant on a roundabout? It's the silver/light green leaved one with the red arrow pointing at it. I thought one would look good in my tropical style garden.
I was unsure of scale Dove - but they get to around three feet here. There's another grass that looks very like it but I can't remember it's name. Probably one of the variegated Miscanthus
One of those Miscanthus would certainly be fine Jay - in fact - there's lots of variegated grasses which would suit your tropical style
There's a variegated version of Arundo donax too, and it gets to big height if you're looking for something sizeable, but I don't know if it's totally hardy everwhere.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I have that plant in my garden . It grows to about 6ft but doesn't spread much. It has survived two winters. I've found the label. It says miscanthus sinensis cabaret - variegated maiden grass. Grows to 1.8m hardy perennial
I think Arundo donax 'Variegata' too, but it's very similar to Miscanthus 'Cosmopolitan', which I coincidentally saw in Homebase today - which would be more reliably hardy.

It looks suspiciously like Phalaris arundinacea (spelling?) - Gardener's Garters.
If it is - I wouldn't plant it unless you want it everywhere else in your garden!

the growth is wrong for Miscanthus, It had leaves coming of the stems in a way that Miscanthus doesn't
