My old collie/lab ate three top layers of M&S chocs, two chocolate oranges and an undisclosed number of QS chocs and toffees before granny caught her.
She then threw up several times including in the back of the car. The valetor was nearly in tears and I paid him loads extra because he missed his lunch. . The dog was happy as Larry and would do it all again. (She is now 17 and still looking for chocolate!).
Thanks folks. I think it probably is mouse poison. regarding dogs, I never, ever leave food out/unattended although Alice is well trained with the 'leave it' command! She won't eat anything on the floor unless given permission!
