  • Thank you, Paul.  I will look up Δανάη (!!) racemosa.  Fame indeed!

  • How kind you are, Borderline.  My photos are always lacking in quality, like the photographer herself!

It certainly has a bit that look of a salvia; but let's be patient, someone might have the specific name. Who knows?

PS :- Danae ; my surname is Bilyk ; blame my Russian father for that one image

  • Hi Wit, I have googled hyssop and I think you might well be right.

It has some scent to it, though not the most impressive on the planet.  It might be because it was growing under an escallonia and I very much doubt that it ever got a glimpse of the sun.

I think aromatic herbs do, usually, best in full sun, so I will transplant it most carefully, taking all the soil attached to its roots with it.

    Wish me luck!

  • Good Heavens, Paul!  My maternal grand parents came from Russia too.

Experts reckon that if you are on a bus or train in an average city , one in nine people will have the same DNA as yourself ; distant relatives from bygone generations . Perhaps we are related somewhere image

  • Anything is possible in such a small world, Paul.  And don't forget, all our grandparents were Adam and  Eve. image

That all depends if you're into religion or fairytales image ; I'm certainly not ! Speaking of 'small world' ; google Carl Sagans 'Pale Blue Dot' on YouTube . Amazing !
