    I could spend ages just watching these tiny bees peeking out of their hotel rooms.

    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    I'm not sure if a football sized woodlouse would be the best pet ever or just plain horrifying.

    @wild edges that folded up woodlouse looks more like a mediaeval war engine to me than a pet. An excellent shot!

    @Alan Clark2 in Liverpool It must be the Anax imperator season. Just posted pics of that visitor in my garden 2 days ago. Yours, like mine, probably a female specimen. Great shot!

    Hi @Obelixx Well-spotted! That's a stick insect / Phasmida. They are fairly common in your part of France at this time of the year. They come either in green or brown varieties.

    Lovely cinnabar moth. I've seen a couple around this year and I've been letting some ragwort grow to see if it attracts them.
    Another tiny bee today. That's an ox-eye daisy and it's as wide as one petal. Even the pollen grains stuck to it look huge :)
