    I'm inclined to agree with  what nut's saying MrsG. When you bear in mind how much willow likes water, and how dry it's been recently (although I'm assuming it's been pretty hot and dry where you are) perhaps they're really struggling for water if the pots aren't really generous.

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Fairy, MrsGarden said that they're in the ground now ... but from what I can see most of the ground around them is covered by decking ... they won't be getting much water from rain ... I would  give them each a good couple of buckets full of water every day .


    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Yes - could still be very short of water there.  Especially with the way they're bound, as nut says. Not really ideal conditions, I would think. image

    Were these the bare stems that were for sale near the wobbly bridge? or did they have roots?

    They had good roots when I bought them fidgetbones, and have been well watered since I got them. (Rain also runs through the decking and theres a space around them without decking).
