Help! Uneven weedy unloved garden

Hi,

Looking for some advice please.

I moved into a bungalow at the end of last year (first garden)  the lady here before never touched the garden in the 3 years that she lived here.

I'm looking for ideas as to how I can get this weeded (roots everywhere) and level whilst being uncostly.

Any ideas gratefully received as I am clueless.

Thank you

Steve

  • Reading the words, thought the worst then scrolled down to see the photos and thought that's one of the easiest weed free level unloved starts I've ever seen. I wish mine was this level, weed free and unloved when I started.

It's a good size too I would be very exited about tucking in to this one. I'd just get tucked in with a garden fork at one end and keep going or hire, beg, borrow or acquire a rotivator  and get started. Level off left to right and slope it upwards away from you with a spade or if you can get hold of some bricks or blocks and you are handy build a retaining wall and level off behind it.

I agree with cottage. Looks like it needs digging over. When that's doneThere are lots you can do with this lovely bit of ground. Wish it was mine?

Yes ... dig it over, pulling out the roots as you go. image

Thank you for the replies :)

I will look into hiring a rotavator.

I had someone in the day I posted to clear the garden as was quite high so I guess the weedy rooty-ness I describe is not so obvious lol.

    Thanks again
