Anenome wild swan is wilting

Anenome Wild Swan looked beautiful all last year and started this year with a beautiful flower show but it has begun to wilt with no obvious sign of pests.  Any suggestions?

    Over/under watered? More likely under with the dry Spring we've had and high temperatures these last few days especially if in a position of full sun. Give it a watering can full & see if it perks up. Mine do the same as they're in a drier part of the garden.

    I'm in Scotland, Mark, so more likely to be overwatering as we have had prolonged, heavy rain.  I will check to see if the bed is water logged. Thanks Mark.

    I think they're a bit finicky, and temperamental, from what I've heard, so it may simply be that they're 'done' image

    Perhaps worth taking cuttings if you want to keep it?

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Recently there have been problems with a virus affecting "Wild Swan".

    Mine ,newly planted was doing beautifully for 2 months this year - then slowly wilted and died - popped into the garden centre where I bought it ,to ask what I had done wrong and it is a known problem with this breed - they kindly gave me a credit note

    Although it's a bit poor when you think about it - they know it's a bit iffy, but how many people would have done what you did, and therefore have lost out - thinking it's their mismanagement of it.  :/

    I have had similar Ruffled Swan since spring last year.  It's said to be semi double but is sort of between single and semi double - very pretty. It needs lots of watering and is always the first plant to wilt when it's hot and/or dry. Likes to be well mulched as well.

    I'm relieved to hear that about "Wild Swan" as I was getting worried about mine. It does indeed wilt at the slightest excuse but thankfully seems to have perked up now we've had some rain.

    I planted 6 a week ago and they were all A ok and looking fabulous. Then suddenly one of them started to wilt. About 75% of it is limp with a few leaves still erect. I wanted to know what was going on so dug it up. I can't see anything obvious....no root rot, not dried out and nothing munching it from underneath.  i hope the others don't follow it
