Privacy ideas
New to this forum and wondered if I could pick your brains! We have a 4 foot open picket fence which is has been newly fitted by our neighbours before we moved into the property. We would like a lot more privacy but know our neighbours prefer having an open fence! Just to add to the issue it's a very long garden, we have a tight budget and there are already 2 large old trees in place so unsure how well plants will grow. Thanks

Not sure what the question is ... do you want to plant in front of your neighbour's fence and can you provide pictures for context?
Will take photos at weekend and upload but just trying to think of ways to provide cheap quick privacy without having to be a second fence up. As there are large trees with just grass underneath I would assume that the roots would be everywhere and take all moisture?
I would think about creating one or two secluded areas with pergolas, trellis and seating, and then if you want to break up other areas with beds of shrubs tall perennials and grasses at a later date then you can.
Looking forward to seeing your photos.

There is a garage to the right of the sheds. The garden is south facing with the picket fence being on the west side. We are prone it being windy down that side of the garden as well as it backs onto fields. Thanks for all your advice so far!
