Dying pea plants

Hi everyone. Im new to all this gardening business so bare with me.

Ive been growing some peas and they seemed to be coming on well... that is until i went away over the weekend and returned to see them in a bit of a sorry state. They are limp with closed up leaves and are looking a slight yellow colour.

It has been fairly heavy rain for a few consecative days. Woyld this be the cause? Are theh dead and should i rip them out?
