TBH after seeing the 2nd set of pics it looks like only weedkillered Dock Leaves, not JW. Some close up shots of the leaves and stems would be very helpful

That was my initial thought too Dave but as I was viewing it on my phone I couldn't see so left it to those far more experienced than myself to advise.

Good call mate. Even zooming in on a notebook, it looked like JK from the first set of pics taken from afar. The colour and shape of the stems plus the illusion of the dreaded heart-shaped leaves can hopefully dismissed after seeing it at a closer angle.
Haha sorry for the late reply I was digging a big hole to bury myself in after the above was mentioned haha I will get it all strimmer and cut back this weekend and will come back on to show progress and seek further advice.
Again many thanks for all the guidance.
After I Strim it back would you guys recommend digging them out or is there a lawn weed killer that will get rid of the docks, there is plenty kicking about all good size so not sure how big the roots will be to get it all out
Phew... it's good to see you posting and not in A&E suffering from a heart attack!
It would best best to give all the docks a dose of brush killer strength Glyphosate and let them die off before strimming them down, which could take a few weeks. They look rather mature and a lawn weed killer is unlikely to see them off... just ake the eves curl for a while before they come back angrier.
Digging docks up isn't easy as the roots can reach 18 inches or more and anybroken fragments left behind will regenerate into new plants.
By all means, strim the grass down but treat the dock leaves in a different manner. Unfortunately, their seeds are known to be viable for up to a century so you'll probably have them making an appearance for a while to come but seedlings will easily succumb to regular mowing or a lawn weedkiller.
The dying docks look like they have had a dose of weedkiller already. If you can, wet the area, then twist the dock as you pull. I had a huge one come out this way, it left a sheath behind, but I got three foot of centre of tap root out.
agree, panic from first photo is allayed by second set of pics, it's weed killered dock,
I would get it strimmed and cleared of rubbish and then get the lawnmower on it, it's remarkable how much better it will look with a good cut, the docks will be kept short by the mower but you can use Roundup or Resolva (if you get the higher strength stuff, it will work better) on any that show thru the cut grass, most importantly it will stop them seeding everywhere.
