It can be a bit stinky when in flower and then the whole plant dies down when the flower is over. It will come back next year if you can manage not to decapitate the crown with the hoe later on in the season.

Thanks Obelix, will try to set some seed if I get any. Have previously been successful with ordinary Arum lilies. Presume Dracunculus will be somewhat similar in its requirements.

It likes a well drained soil and presumably not a wet winter which is why mine only came back once in my Belgian garden. .
