Strange weed

This came as a seedling in a plant I got from a nursery down south. It's not a weed I recognise up here in Scotland and it's pretty unprepossessing so is destined for the bin. But I would like to know what it is first.

wild guess - wild mustard ??

Nope, not mustard ... mustard is a brassica and those aren't brassica leaves ... neither are the flowers right for a brassica.

I can tell you what it isn't, but not what it is image

It certainly is a brassica and very obviously so. I think it might be Rorippa palustris although the pedicels look rather long in relation to the fruit - that might change as the fruits ripen though.

  • Maybe a long shot - meadow vetchling (Lathyrus pratensis).

But you're probably testing or teasing; you so & so, you image

Ono - you are so close you may be correct! I've never heard of it. was among some plants I bought from Peter nyssen.
