Does anyone the name of this tree, it is a large park tree and the flowers are scented.
Thanks!
looks like a Lime tree (Tilia) can't tell if its the large or small leaved variety
The leaves look a bit like lime but I had no idea they had such a lovely scent, the ones we had on the street (as opposed to park) never had a scent or the double leaf that this one has, they had a lot of sap!
I looked it up and it is lime - if I owned some parkland would definitely plant some!
Thanks for the ID Treehugger
Tilia sp...common name Lime.
The thin bit bseside the flowers is actually a bract rather than a flower.
Aphids love them. If you park your car under it it will get covered in ".honey dew"..or aphid pooh.
