Blueberries not pollinating
in Fruit & veg
HI, I've got two blueberry bushes side by side and one has pollinated and produced big plump fruit but the other one flowered but doesn't seem to have pollinated and all the tiny fruit has dried up and fallen off. Any advice on what I'm doing wrong. Thanks

Does your blueberry plant need a friend?
Are they in the ground or in pots?
the one with no fruit set might not of got enough water at fruit set.
are they in the same area in your garden?
Thanks for your replies.
They're in pots next to each other, but I keep them well watered daily.
Just looking at the ones that pollinated and some of the smaller ones have died off over the last few days.
There in full sun on the patio and it gets quite hot on there, so just wondering if it could be too hot for them.

I used to keep mine in full sun until I read somewhere that they are better in partial shade so moved them and this year got the best crop yet.
Thanks Chrissy, think I'll do that with mine.
Just took some photos for you to see, they are in the sun in the morning and all afternoon will be in shade.--------
Hope this will work for you but of course you will have to wait until next year for more fruit.
They look lovely and healthy, so much better than mine. I think mine will require some serious attention come the autumn. Do you have them in ericaceous compost and are they in pots?
Yes they are in ericaceous compost and in pots I top dress them in early spring and feed them with liquid seaweed through the growing period. I would plant them in the ground but my soil is very alkaline.
