I've inherited a few scruffy plants in pots and sadly the previous owner is no longer around to tell me what they are called.  Can anyone tell me the name of this plant and any advice about it's care would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Potentilla, possibly P. Esta Ann. It is easy to grow, and would be better in the ground . than in a pot.

Thank you that's very helpful.  It will be put in the garden once we've sorted it out.

Not a geum.  Potentilla.  Both are good plants with flowers in a  good range of colours but very different leaves.

Not barren strawb, that has white petals, rather widely spaced, this is a garden variety/hybrid

Nutcutlet, you're right, had a look again, they are wide spaced.
