How to stop lavender dying

Hello there

I recently bought 2 established lavender plants from my local B&Q and they did really well for a while and outgrew their original plastic pots. I have since repotted and merged both into a big ceramic pot but it's starting to dry out from the base of the plant (not the root). The weather have been up/down, wet/windy and it's quite exposed on my balcony. Anyone have some good ideas what I can do to stop the base drying out?

I read somewhere to trim off dead flower heads, and did that which helped but problem above still there.

Thank you.

Perhaps if you post a photo we may be able to help?

Thirst?  That pot is too small for 2 lavenders.   They don't want to be wet but they do need some moisture at their feet on a balcony where they are exposed to sun and wind.
