Sedum Purple Emperor - Advise Please

in Plants
I have a Sedum Purple Emperor that was growing in a very shady area of the garden and wasn't doing very well. It was bending to get to the light and the leaves were very dull.
So I dug it up and split it into pots to put on my patio were it is sunny most of the day.
This is one of the pots and the sedum is very bent. Should I cut it to reduce the height and taking cuttings?
I have heard of the Chelsea chop but never done it on my sedums.
Any advice appreciated.

I think the 'Chelsea Chop' would work very well and you get more plants from the cuttings!
If you have the patience to wait until early next spring , after cutting off this years stem , you should see growing at ground level several semi-dormant growing shoots for 2018 . These can be carefully divided and potted on to make more plants.
I would use the top as cuttings before it falls over
In the sticks near Peterborough
Thanks for all the advice
I have a number of those purple colour sedums but none of the stems seem to grow straight like the " S spectabile". Lots of bendy rather floppy stems. .It might just be what they are like.
