Oriental Lily Bulbs in large pot

My Oriental Lily Bulbs can be planted outside Autumn to Spring.  Will I be likely to get flowers this September if I plant now?

Certainly more likely than if you don't plant them.

I have bought bulbs at Chelsea in late May and planted them straightaway in pots and they have flowered by autumn.

  • Thanks for your reply.  I didn't want to give them as a gift if they might not flower. Will plant tomorrow.

I bought lily bulbs at Gardeners world last year in June and they were in flower by august so it should be fine. Why did the post confuse you Mike? Seems quite straightforward to me.
