Lavender plants

Hi. I planted this lavender as small plants last year. They seem to have become very straggly...have I done wrong in feeding them I wonder? Thank you!image

The feed has produced lots of soft new growth, but they clearly like their site. You might want to make the border a bit  wider as they're already encroaching on the  grass.

It also depends on variety as to the height they achieve, but the long stems are the ones which will carry flowers. I think there are buds there already  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I think they will look fabulous against your wall when in flower. Some varieties have flowering stems which are a foot long - they are great for cutting. You can prune back with harvesting and/or in early Spring.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Thank you very much ladies! Yes there are buds there. I just haven't seen such long stems before-must be the variety-I can't remember which it is! I'll take your advice and widen the border when we cut the grass tomorrow Fairy girl  ?
