Can anyone help identify this very tall perennial with small white flowers please?

    It looks a bit like a Clematis armandii, but not sure the leaves look right

    Certainly looks like a Clematis.

    Very late for armandii to be flowering though.

    Thanks for the replies.  It does look a bit like clematis but it's not a climber. It's just very tall.  Is there a non-climbing clematis maybe?

    Lots of non-climbing clematis. It does look like C. recta, it's probably the most common, but there are others
