Fig tree
in Fruit & veg
My container fig tree has 20+ fruit on it but only half a dozen leaves. Is this due to the weather or the way I have pruned it?

The way you've pruned it. Incorrectly I suspect.
Are you watering it enough ? My container grown fig needs a bucket full of water every other day from spring onwards. although they need free draining compost they still need lots of water. They are very thirsty plants.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thank you for your replies. I have watered it more this year and we live in a really wet area but I take your point Dovefromabove. I pruned the cross branches out in late winter and nipped out the very tips where the fruit developes in spring. Can anyone advise on the correct way to prune a container grown fig tree?
