Hi there ive recently planted salvia and instead of standing upright its lying along the ground. Any ideas

Tie it gently to a couple of sticks.
It depends on the types of Salvias and when you planted them. With any Savlias planted just now, especially if they're young, it will probably flop about. Some get too tall and get no support when planted in the ground. No harm in giving it a little trim if too tall. They will recover quite quickly.
In time, they will start to grow upright as they settle, but to help it along, staking a few sticks as Fidgetbones states will help it along. If not, keep the soil surrounding the base area quite dry and lay a good layer mulch like bark chip keeps the base areas dry, so in wet spells which is quite often at this time of year, your leaves and stems are not sodden and finding it hard to recover.
