How long to leave lime before planting?

Hi everyone,

I've added lime to one of my flowerbeds to help to improve the soil. I know I need to leave it a couple of weeks before I can add manure, but can I plant anything before then? Or can fresh lime harm plants?

Thanks for any help,

There is no issue with lime and plants. In fact, the lime being added may not start its work on your soil consistently. Depending on your soil type, the change can be as quick as one month to as long as a year. So, just go about what you would normally do.

Thanks Borderline. I will get on with some planting tomorrow then!
