Weigela rubidor has brown crinkling leaves

My new Weigela doesn't seem happy. I thought they like fun sun and can tolerate any soil but mine is developing brown crinkled leaves...what am I doing wrong?

I presume it has been well watered ? Mine was a bit desiccated ealier in the year but has recovered with all the rain
