Plants by post

Does anyone know a reputable plant company which sends plants to the Republic of Ireland?  I've learned, by reading various posts on this forum that a few companies have a bad reputation, eg. T&M.........I've tried Crosus, but they don't send South of the border.

The selection here is sooooo bad, it's the same varieties been sold by the few mail order Irish companies and nurseries, which are reducing at an alarming rate.  I guess we're not a nation of gardeners, it's very frustrating.

Thank you.

http://www.hayloft-plants.co.uk/ ; give these a try ; their quality of plants and back-up service is second to none . Highly recommended.

I would agree with Paul B3 and say Hayloft. I don't know if Sarah Raven do, but worth a look. They always turn up in good condition when I've ordered from there.

Sarah Raven doesn't send plants, just seeds, thanks Gardenmaiden.

Will try Hayloft, thanks Paul B3

Hayloft plants send to France so I would expect them to send to Ireland. Very good plants and customer service.

Mary370, yes Sarah Raven does send plants. I have had Astrantias from there this year.

Gardenmaiden do you live in the Rep. of Ireland?  I understood that they only sent to Northern Ireland.  Perhaps I am mistaken, I will recheck.

Hi Mary, i am in Ireland too and it's frustrating but i did have plug plants delivered by thompons and morgan and secretgardeningclub.co.uk. What i did was use http://www.parcelmotel.com/ as it allows items to be delivered to a UK address locally. Obviously there is a max size so you wont be able to get 2L plants delivered etc but for i got 6 9cm plants delivered from secretgardening using this and 72 plugs from thompson and morgan. Hope this helps image

I haven't used any for years now. But in the past, I have had no issues with many of the above companies listed. Try Hardy Plants UK. www.hardyplants.co.uk. Based in the UK. I'm very sure that if you email them with your requests, they can fit something around you. Many of the smaller nurseries around the UK will help too. With a negotiated charge, they may post to you. Call them or email them to find out. You'll be surprised how personalised they can be.

A huge bulb specialist based in the UK and defintely posting outside of the UK, Jacques Amand. www.jacquesamandintl.com They send from February to April, and then again from August to December.
