Can anyone tell me why my courgettes have flowers but no courgettes??

I'm a courgette newbie too - growing for the 1st year.
I've learned from other posts on the forum that it's not unusual for courgettes to produce only male flowers early in the season. Female flowers with baby courgette attached, will appear soon. Leave the males attached so they can pollinate the females when the come along

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
This is the last year I am trying courgettes as in the past years I have only had male flowers which I have left on the plant but no female ones ever appeared on three plants.
