Pond algae
I have just cleaned and refilled my pond but already it has a green tinge to it. The latest episode of Gardeners World recommended using a pond dye but made no mention of type. On line there are dozens of types and want to know what is the best and most effective to use. I have no fish just plants and insects.

its gone green because its out of balance after you cleaned it, give it a couple of weeks and it will not be green anymore.
I filled my w/l pond in march with tap water. I left it to balance by itself, within 2 weeks it was deep green and stayed that way for about 8 weeks then over the course of about 7 days it has cleared completely, not even a slight green tint and at last I can see the bottom and who is living in there

Yes, pond water takes time to clear - 2weeks and perhaps longer as you mentioned Pete8. You can buy pond dyes, but I think it is better to let nature take it's course and allow the water to clear naturally.
After last weeks programme I put in a small wildlife pond of my own over the weekend. Used a pond liner and used some of this pond dye, very please with the outcome. Already have visitors and have no idea where the frogs are coming from, because there is no ponds in the vicinity.
Build it and they will come as someone once said.
