Echium pin.
The plot next to mine boasts one of these plants, flowering at a towering nine feet out of the sun and next to a boundary hedge. From other threads on site I gather these can be fussy to grow; this is obviously a very chilled out example. 6th June 2017

Mine seems to be fine at present. Its around 2.5ft tall with ridiculous sized leaves and it is about a year old. It survived the winter in the ground as a seedling so I am now hoping it makes it through next winter as a larger plant so that I can see if flower next year.
