Tumbling Tom (yellow cherry) young tomato fruit

AngieRAngieR Posts: 347

Please excuse my ignorance, this is my first attempt at growing my own produce.

I have several different tomato plants going and am pleased with how well they are all doing but am unsure if these fruits look 'normal'.  All the other tomatoes I am growing are an all over even pale green right now but these yellow cherry tomatoes have a darker tinge/streak near the tops of the fruits.  Is this normal behavior for yellow tomatoes or is it a sign I am doing something wrong.  I am growing Red tumbling toms too but they are only just beginning to set fruit so have nothing to compare them with. They get regular watering and since setting fruit have been fed weekly with tomorite.

They look cracking to me - they're starting to ripen. You're way ahead of my TT's they're only just setting fruit now - masses of it though

Thanks Pete8.  I have to admit to being rather disappointed though.  Not the masses of fruit (flowers) that I was expecting.  To be honest I'll be happy with what ever I get since it's my first attempt.

Be patient. With any luck they'll go on producing fruit until well into September/October image

Angie - I wouldn't feed it so often either. Lots of food makes for lazy plants. If you're a bit harder on them, they think they're going to pop their clogs, so they produce a bit more fruit....image
