Companion planting with roses
I am planning to create a new bed and would like it to be dedicated to roses, paeonies and clematis . Does anyone know if they would be compatible or am I just a deluded old romantic? I believe that they all prefer a neutral soil, on the heavy side, so perhaps I gave a head start there . Has anyone tried this combo and if do, how did it go?

Roses and clematis do well together so long as neither one is rampant.
The trick/ luck is getting them to flower together. One of my pairs missed each other this year but another pair are best buddies.
