Does mimulus self seed around?

Found this flower at the base of the azalea pot. Realised it was a mimulus. I didn't put it there. Had them in hanging baskets last year, and again this year. Would it have been from a last year's plant, or this years?

Since noticed seedlings in lots of planters all over different parts of the garden!

I am new to gardening! Didn't realise seeds fly around like this!?

yes it does. It took me 3 years to rid my pond area of it.
I tried the " small doses" approach, but it carried on taking liberties. So out it came one and all.
I can be ruthless when I put my mind to it.
Oh fantastic! I love mimulus flower too. Very pretty and tropical looking. I still don't understand if the seeds have germinated from last years plantings? Or flown around from ones put into baskets this year (but those are still flowering?!) I literally only had one basket with mimulus in it!
Sorry for my dumbass questions, I have done A-level biology but for some reason they don't teach you about mimulus
