Oversoaked anemone de Caen bulbs

Hi has anyone oversoaked these bulbs and if so were they successful. I put them in a container to soak overnight but then got distracted the next day and in turn was ill and could not plant them until a week later. They were slightly mouldy but planted them anyway. Keeping fingers crossed but not too hopeful. How long should I give it to see if anything appears? Any information is much appreciate.

Hi I'm not sure as I only soaked mine for a few hours. Mine has taken about two months, possibly more for flowers to appear.

If they were mouldy when you planted them, they're not likely to survive. They only need an initial soak to get them growing.

They need to be in well drained conditions after flowering too. I treat them as annuals really, as they don't like the wet ground here. If one or two make it through to the nextyear, it's a bonus  image

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Many thanks to all for your response. Really appreciate it. Poor things, I have probably killed them. I will try again, maybe next year. Thanks again. image
