What are these monster caterpillars?

I've just noticed my lovely (I'm having a senior moment) plant being decimated by a load of big caterpillars - anyone know what they are and if it's worth sacrificing my lovely flowers

The only good thing you can say about them, at least they are easy to spot (although too late for one of my verbascums yesterday !)

Thanks both - they'll be in the compost bin in a few minutes then - and I'll hope for a 2nd flush - of flowers!
