went yesterday, ha d a fantastic day out, didn't spend too much, got lily bulbs same name as my daughter, and some v small kids gardening gloves! Adored the famtasuy wire sculptures, my only criticism is why were't David Austin roses there?
We went on Thursday, getting in to the car park was comparatively painless to the previous day from what I gather. There are obviously several issues to be sorted out before next year, but all in all we enjoyed it. Didn't get to see the show gardens due to the crowds & the problems with access due to the slippery ground, but I thought the "Great conservatory" was very clever. The "floral bridge" was a lovely idea, the problem was it was quite narrow & naturally people wanted to stop to take a closer look, photographs etc.
I presume the RHS will be asking for feedback from the ticket holders when the show has finished, if not I'll be letting them have my tuppence worth anyway
I went Saturday. It was grey and overcast all day but only rained when we got back on the coach. Very crowded.
I wore my walking boots. The site info did warn about foot wear and I am so glad I did .
I really did enjoy it but I supidly decided not to take the folding trolley I bought last year at the NEC. A big mistake. I have problems with shoulders and arm tendons and carrying the bags was very uncomfortable.
The moral from that, is don't pretend to yourself you are not getting a tad decrepit and take a flipping trolley with you. A few small plants can be very heavy.
Jason M - It's £27 for a whole day's entry to Tatton - if you order and pay in advance - and hours of fun. That makes it £é to 3£ an hour depending on how long you stay.
Take a picnic and a bottle of water and you'll only need to buy an ice cream and some plants.
Seems like great value to me. Compare it with a concert, a football match, a theme park, a day out anywhere else........
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
The mind boggles. I noticed some "interesting garments" and lots of bling and hair style when I was there. I am going to the NEC GW show this Thursday.
When we have been to the Maldives, some interesting clothing and footwear turn up. As all the floors in the bars and restaurants and roads are sand, anything other than flip flops are useless. New female holidaymakes are identified by stilettos. It is hot so loose flappy clothing is de rigueur, however, I did see a Bride and Groom arrive, presumably straight ( 18 hour of flights including a small sea plane) from the reception. He still had on a suit and tie, She had the full meringue. We just stood and watched. Totally gobsmacked. I was hot in a swimming costume .

Went Saturday. Amazing but must say I was not as in awe as last year at Tatton ( the only other the flower show I've been to admittedly).
OH well and truly treated me! Three 'harlequin willows' and a wooden chair. Just where to put them now!
I bought a few bits n bobs myself as well.
Travel and parking was very good, we arrived at 9.45, long queue on foot but not bad on the drive there.
Wellies were essential, fun watching OH in his shoes!
We saw a woman in red stillettos and a red, lacy mini-dress on Wednesday.
