New Lawn - Watering

Hi,

Had garden landscaped, new lawn around 100m x 6m.

Bought two Hozelock Sprinklers and timer, thought I would be clever but not enough pressure to work both sprinklers and only one sprinkler covers roughly a thirds of the lawn.

We are not always home and timer works dusk and dawn.

Any suggestions would be appreciated and I haven't got a clue now.

Thanks,

    Hi

as your water preseure is not adequate to run both sprinklers i would presume the only alternative is to  use only one sprinkler. As it a new lawn and the groundwork was carried out correctly then the drainage should be good. Possisbly a 30 minute watering of each section of lawn will be adequate in hot weather. The best time to maxismise watering the lawn is early morning or early evening so do it over a period of time

    Hi

i agree sprinklers do waste water but with such are large expanse of lawn, the only effective way is to use a quality sprinkler that fully hydrants your lawn. Othwise you better have a big watering can at your disposable.?

As I asked in my last comment, if the groundwork was carried out properly before laying the new lawn, then it should have effective drainage. I use a Hoselock sprinkler that creates an arch effect of water that floods the grass over an area of 15ms.I find this type of sprinkler concentrates on deep watering of the grass as opposed to the ocilating type However, do not overwater your lawn as this can be as detrimental as under watering
