How are tomatos in terracota pots??

hello,

I always put my tomatoes in grow bags but this year I want to put them in terracotta pots as I much prefer to stay away from plastic and I think they look better too.

Has anyone used them before For tomatoes?

Is it perfectly okay to do this? Also does anybody know if a terracotta pot called "long Tom pots" were actually originally meant for tomatoes?… Thanks very much :-)

They will grow fine in just about anything, Eve, as long as there are drainage holes in the bottom. image

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Hi Gardener Eve,

I always grow tomatoes in clay pots.   I use big pots and I keep them in the greenhouse all summer. Plenty of food and water.   I don't ever get tomato blight.

I have never used "long toms" pots as I think they are ok for lillies.
