This appeared growing up through one of our Asters. I think it may be a Dianthus but don't know which variety. It's actually more pink than the photo shows. I won't be able to separate it from the Aster. Is there a propagation technique I can use to ta cuttings?

Looks like one of the Dianthus monspessulanus species (fringed pinks.)  Some of them are highly fragrant.

    Isn't it ragged  robin (Lychnis flos-cuculi) ?

It's not Ragged Robin, the stalk is classic Dianthus colour, a grey/ blue colour. Ragged Robins have a finer and darker stalk.

agree with borderline. Dianthus. I had some that looked like that, from a packet of seed called Dianthus 'Loveliness'

Certainly a brassica of some kind and probably just a stray seed possibly from a wild form or birdseed, so nothing worth keeping.
