Dahlias
I've got a dahlia tuber which I over wintered in a pot. It's growing well and has thrown up about a dozen or more shoots. Do I need to reduce the number of shoots in order to allow the plant to grow with sturdier, thicker stems. If so, do I just cut them off at the base. Many thanks.

nope you can leave them as they are.
Unless you want to take cuttings.
I'm following Sarah Raven's advice for my second year of growing dahlias. I've left 5 shoots sprouting from the tuber and pinched out the growing tips. Time will tell how well they do
