Cucumbers - what to do with the side shoots?

in Fruit & veg
My first time growing cue's
I potted up my Cucino cue last week into a 22L pot in the g/house and strung stout string up to the eaves for me to wrap it round, as with a tomato.
The central stem is fine and about 2ft long and there are lots of side-shoots appearing already about 6-10" long with lots of baby cues on them. What do I do? can I cut them back? coz I can see a big tangled mess approaching
Also, can I snip off the tendrils?
I'm growing squash and courgettes also for the 1st time, I'm amazed how quickly they grow - so watering regularly
Thanks

Hi, Pete: I'd like to wish you "Good Luck" with your 'maiden' growing season in your new greenhouse - by the sounds of it your plants/ crops are heading in the right direction! [ Btw: my 'cues are at 6-leaf stage, but no side shoots yet]. I'd leave the tendrils alone as they all help to spread the loading once the fruits start to enlarge. As regards shortening the sideshoots - do shorten any that get in the way. With the massive pot/ rootrun you've given the plant(s), they're bound to become 'very adventurous'!! Enjoy!!
Thank you David - I'll trim them back so they don't all get tangled. I was thinking of allowing 2-3 fruits per side shoot so they don't get too messy and it's a mini variety to pick at 4" so should get too heavy - I can see I'm going to be eating a lot of cucumbers this summer (hopefully). Thanks for your advice
