Does anyone have any ideas for a memorial pot grown tree/shrub for a baby girl to flower in June?

Thanks

Tim

    Hi Christie,

Not dense at all! I think about a maximum sized pot of about 85cm diameter.

You can buy or train Lilacs or Wisteria as standards, which would flower in late May/June.

A lovely idea. Many roses have names or have 'love, memories or special' in the name.

Other pretty blooms are Lilys, Peonies or Alstroemerias - in pastels, pinks or bright.

You could have a small tree as a centerpiece, so you have something to see all year (as the flowers are only seasonal) or plant a tree separately so you can watch it grow over the years (Acer, apple tree, cherry etc.).

I hope you find something fitting.

Deutzias are lovely - I have D. x lemoinei and D. x hybrida 'Strawberry Fields' growing in large pots on my patio and they look beautiful at the moment.

There are a number of small June-flowering Rhododendrons/Azaleas available which would be suitable for pots too (see https://www.rhododendrons.co.uk/ for some ideas).

    Exochorda might be another choice.

There are some fantastic roses to choose from including:

'Golden Celebration', 'The Alnwick Rose' (my personal favourite), 'The Lady Gardener' and 'Tranquility'  amongst many others, all bred by David Austin (see http://www.davidaustinroses.co.uk/ ).

Peter Beales have a selection of roses all named for specific occasions (see https://www.classicroses.co.uk/roses/occasion-roses-collection.html ).

I hope you find what you're looking for.

    All the best.

its a nice thing to do and we chose a white paperbark birch but as you will be using a pot remember to check growing conditions

And whereabouts in the country you are eg we are 3 weeks later up here in the north, that can make a big difference
